Hi Guys
The AGM has been and gone and most local members were there, our Chairman Lynn came up from Nottingham on the back of Chris’is bike and spent the evening complaining that her Bum was sore, she blamed the saddle personally I think the jeans where to tight.
Mark came up from Blackpool only to find that Calmac had taken the Ferry off so ended up in a very expensive B&B only to wake up in the morning to remember he had his tent on the back of the bike, well he had come up for a camping weekend to the Fyne Ales beer fest and he is a smart arse so what else do you expect.
Talking of which if they have a beer fest next year it has to be a Club Run it was superb, I don’t think Mark was at his best in the morning though I was happily throwing sticks for one of the farms dogs and Mark was trying to get his tent in the tent bag or so I thought but really he was trying to crawl in the bag and have a quiet hour or two.
When he did leave he only got a few miles down the road and got a tug from the Old Bill, only to be complemented on his riding and road craft and was given a Goody bag of biking bits and pieces, you know the stuff Asprin, bottle of water, dark glasses, ect. So any way just proves their not all bad out there.
Julys Club meet will be at the Glen forsa on Fri the 9th as most of us are at the Super bikes the Fri before. This is also the last shout for Membership Dues if you are not rejoining then we thank you for your support over the last two years.
Our Club Rally this year is over the 10th 11th 12th Sept and is fast approaching and this year we have Two Marquees to put up, the plan is to put them up on the Sunday before ( the 5th Sept) so if you can all spare the time it will be much appreciated there is also plenty to do during the week and over the course of the Rally, so please join in and have some fun.
I expect most of you know that Paul & Heather are leaving the Island at the end of the month and I am sure that we all wish them all the best and safe riding in the future.
Cheers
Dave
21/3/2010:Next Club meet is at the Glenforsa hotel on friday 2nd April. Posted up some info on road race dates and package deals that i came across at the Scottish Bike Show, which was packed.Chris is also selling his Leather 2 piece suit, posted pics for your interest.Just a bitch about petrol prices, we are now paying 10p a litre on the island more than the mainland, ever get the feeling that your being rodgered?? Next time you see a politician, piss on their shoe.Anyone with Rallys or other events of interest to club members let me know and i`ll get them posted up on the site.
24/1/2010; The end of the world is nigh. so I`ve been told anyway so just to cheer things up a bit the Club has a marquee available for hire for any events you have in mind ,all at a very reasonable price of course. Ticket enquiries for the 2010 White Tail Rally (ours) have been very healthy so its down to us to ensure that we put on a good event and bikers go off the island saying good things about us!
30/08/09 Some more changes! Brendan has booked Chris Merchent to provide the sounds on friday night and also Saturday night along with The Camans. Everyone is being encouraged to get out and about on their bikes at the weekend, get to see the island and give the folk on the island a look at the bikes. The "erection" of the marquee is provisionally planned for sunday 6th sept to give us time to set it up,build a stage, bars etc before friday 11th. If you can spare a couple hours to help out it would be apprecciated.
9/8/09; There have been a few technical f**k*ps to sort out with the rally which is now looming closer all the time which have resulted in a change of band,"THE CAMANS" will now be providing the music on saturday night,Craig assures me his full-on rock will get the place buzzin`!! Ronnie is going to provide the sounds on friday night. Marquee and Mull Rodeo are still on,Mike (the bike) is now resident on the island again, working as head chef at the Isle of Mull hotel and he is sorting out a run-out round the island on Saturday afternoon. Glenforsa are taking care of the BBQ and bars. Dave has sorted out some Real Ale from Lochfyne Brewary, after being let down by our initial supplier who shall remain nameless!
One last thing, for those bikers traveling to the island for the rally, please be sure to get booked on if possible to the ferries,it`s going to be busy!! See you all soon.
20/6/09 ; Tickets for the rally in September are now SOLD OUT !!! Inducements of large amounts of cash, alcohol, new motorcycles, sexual favours are not entirely ruled out however. Clubs AGM on June 26th at the Glenforsa Hotel.
9/5/09 : Bit of an update on our rally in September, 95 of the 120 ticket allocation have been sold, please dont leave it too late booking your tickets or you wont get in !! you have been warned. The band is booked,so is the "Bull", Tony has got a Poker Run organised for saturday afternoon to keep you entertained and do a bit of sight seeing. Please also note Cal Mac have limited places on the oban to craignure sailing so make your arrangements well before hand and book the ferry. The alternative is to travel around to the Lochaline - Fishnish ferry and get in line, its not that much more time wise as you dont have to be there half an hour or more beforehand as with the Oban Ferry (and its cheaper). More news as it becomes available.
Having attended a recent meeting of the "keep Mull moving" group,on the case to press for continuous road improvements on the island, the site Potholes was brought to our attention for reporting holes and claiming for damages caused by them, apparently Mull doesnt have any holes!!! time to put that right, get them reported. More updates on this subject as the situation progresses.
you can have a room for the next rally if you say its for the bike, otherwise its back to the tent!
Paul and Dave are heading up to Applecross for a run,if you fancy going then get in touch, the more the merrier. Tony has got the Poker Run sorted out for our september weekend, the "Bull" is booked and Oban based band "Chunks" is providing the sounds on saturday night, friday night will be a disco.Anna has come up with a cracking design for a rally T shirt, these will only be available on the September weekend. There are a few Rally`s and other run outs being planned, and like Dave keeps telling me its nearly spring!, so get the bikes sorted out and put some miles on the clock.
THIS IS DAVE`S IDEA OF SPRING....

At the mmcc meet in the MacDonald Arms, details and dates of bike rally`s and events were presented and discussed, some of which are now posted on the Club calender for members information. Our own "White Tail Rally" was also on the agenda, with ideas being sought for various things we could do to raise money for charity, which for this year will be the RNLI as they provide a very vital service to the island. MMCC is now a member of the BMF,this gives us the insurance cover needed to put on the rally. Various ideas were put forward for entertainment, poker run, slapping the Bull(thats being booked!),any other insane suggestions welcome. MMCC s subscriptions are due in May,still £25 for the year for a single membership,£40 for a couple. The next MMCC club meet will be Friday 6th Febuary in the MacDonald Arms,Tobermory.
MMCC is having a Xmas Bash on the 6th December at the Bellachroy Hotel, the meal is £12.95 per person,if your planning to attend could you get in touch with us just to give us an idea of numbers so we let the hotel know. We gained 3 new members this month,Liam( Da Pres`s son) Kevin Taylor and June Anderson, good to have you folks, the more the merrier.Next planned mmcc club meet is in January 2009,date TBC. There have already been booking taken for our rally next september, with the numbers being held at 120 please dont leave it till the last minute to get your tickets booked.
MMCC patch`s(the most recent order) have now arrived with us and are now available,as the rest of the clothing comes in we`ll let you know.
Hi Guys.
The October meeting saw us gain another member, Paul's wife Lyn, who seemed
to be very happy giving us all a bit of stick, so promptly got voted in as
Chairman/woman/person, whatever!! Personally I think she will be good. Also
to stop Brendon wittering on about a bloodless coup he was made Hon Life
President (well you do need a more senior person for the role) and no it
does not mean you get free membership Brendon. So we now have some structure
to the Club with a Chairman (Lyn) a Secretary (Paul), a Social Secretary
(Alasdair) and a Treasurer (Me).
It was also agreed that we affiliate to the BMF from next January. As part
of the membership package, it gives the Club a good liability insurance deal
so we are covered for as many events as we hold, as well as giving
individual members some good discount deals at various outlets (check their
web site).
Also talked about for the coming year was the idea of camping/bunkhouse
weekends. Instead of just going for a ride out for a few hours once a
month, find a country Pub/Hotel a decent ride away with a bit of room for
camping or with a couple of rooms stay over night and return on the Sunday.
Like wise with the Bunkhouses. Any one with ideas please let us know. It
does'nt have to be up North, it could be down in the Borders or Carlisle way
to give our members South of the Border a chance to meet up
Any ideas???
I need to get some flyers out by November to get it into the rally circuit,
so far we have The Mucky Mulluichs Rally, The Organ Doners Rally and the
White Tail Rally,
Let me know ASAP.
What with the Car Rally, school holidays and such there will not be an Oct
run out by the club, and November's run will be to the Northern Lights
Rally, over the weekend of the 7th 8th 9th Nov. the Rally will be held at
The Red House Hotel, Cruden Bay. Aberdeenshire. It is run by the Aberdeen
MCC. We are going up on the Saturday and coming back Sunday, any one
interested contact Alasdair Ingram. At the moment there are three of us
going but the more the merrier .
Don't forget it's YOUR Club so any ideas on the way forward let us know,
that includes you lot hiding away down there in Blackpool, Nottingham, and
Bournemouth not to mention Thailand!!!
Remember Bikes are for riding not looking at!!!!!
Cheers Dave.
Ps. Despite all the rabbitting that went on at the last meeting, we did not
set up a meeting for November so it will be at the Glen Forsa on the 14th
November 8pmish.
As of 4th October 2008 the Mull Motorcycle Club have the following office bearers,
